The small outback township of Wiluna is situated in the central area of Western Australia on the edge of the Little Sandy Desert. Wiluna is the starting point for both the Canning Stock Route and the Gunbarrel Highway. The Canning Stock Route is for four-wheeldrive vehicles only, and heads northeast through the Little Sandy, Gibson and Great Sandy deserts to Halls Creek.
