Oxford (Kidlington) Airport

Oxford (Kidlington) Airport Oxford is the region’s primary general and business aviation airport and historically one of the busiest airfields in the United Kingdom. Located in the heart of one of Europe’s most prosperous and fastest growing regions, Oxford lies just 40 miles to the west of the greater London area, half way to the country’s industrial heartland of Birmingham.

Oxford is the UK’s primary centre for pilot and engineer training services. Other businesses residing at the airport offer ad-hoc charter, air-taxis, private hire, regular shuttles, lease or sales of aircraft and helicopters, their support, operation and maintenance. Centered within the hub of the British motor racing industry, Oxford plays a key part in transport and logistics for teams and drivers alike.

As a privately owned and operated airport, we welcome all visiting aircraft, their passengers and aviation-related businesses to see what the airport and the local area have to offer.

Oxford (Kidlington) Airport Oxford Airport

Although originally conceived as Oxford’s ‘Municipal Airport’, with the onset of the war the airport turned to training RAF pilots. In the mid-forties there were a greater number of hangars and buildings than can be seen today with 15 acres of the original land having been sold off in the 1990s allowing the establishment of the Spires Business Park off Langford Lane. Today the airport owns some 375 acres freehold with over 335,000ft of buildings.

Oxford Airport has been owned and operated by BBA Group plc through its subsidiary Oxford Aviation Services Limited since February 2000. BBA Group is one of the world’s largest providers of support services to both regional and business aviation owning brands such as ASIG, Signature Flight Support, Dallas Airmotive and H+S Aviation amongst many others.
