Private and commercial rotary and fixed-wing operators are located on site. The airport is a bomber base for Alberta Forestry (Sustainable Resources), and serves as a point of call for commercial, corporate, and general aviation. A prosperous growing community with over 11,000 area residents, Rocky is a major center for timber, agriculture, and oil & gas enterprises, as well as being a gateway to the breathtaking recreation areas of the Rocky Mountains. On Sept 12, 2004 we hosted our 3rd bi-annual Air Show and so far it has been an enormous success. See our Air Show link on the Nav bar for our next show.
