Senador Nilo Coelho Airport (IATA: PNZ, ICAO: SBPL) also known as Petrolina Airport is the airport serving Petrolina, Pernambuco and Juazeiro, Bahia, Brazil. It is named after the Petrolina-born Senator Nilo de Sousa Coelho (1920-1983).

History

Petrolina Airport handles the exportation of fresh fruits from the São Francisco valley to Europe and/or USA. The cargo terminal operates with 6 large coolers with capacity for 17,000 boxes each plus 2 coolers tunnels.

This airport also has daily direct connections between the region (which includes 53 municipalities from the states such as Pernambuco, Piauí and Bahia) to major capitals as Recife, Salvador da Bahia and São Paulo.
